Holiday Season Already?

Hey Lovebugs! I don’t know about you all, but my days are filled to capacity….with sheer self-avoidance. By that I mean losing myself in a good steamy book (shout out to Unconditional: A Collection of Passion-fy Short Stories by Author DNC, a few glasses of wine, and submerging into an alternate fantasy. I’d rather do that then face reality. Realities of adult responsibilities like working on my healing journey, or writing, or working on my Life Coaching business. One of those responsibilities that is currently blaring at me is preparing for the holidays. Wasn’t it just Memorial Day?! Weren’t we just celebrating Juneteenth and/or July 4th?! I think Father Time wears roller blades instead of Sunday Shoes aka Lemon Pepper Steppas.

I came to the realization this week that as I’m writing this that Halloween is in 24 days, Thanksgiving is in 49 days, Black Friday is in 50 days, Cyber Monday is in 53 days (yep they count too), and Christmas is in 79 days. I have not one gift, not one idea of what gifts to give this year, not one dollar saved for said gifts because you know living life during a pandemic and all.  I also have my youngest away at school in Boston whose 21st birthday is on October 16th, and my oldest son’s 24th birthday is on November 11th. You guessed it, I have no clue as to what I’m going to get them for their birthdays which are right in the middle of the holiday season.

I’ve decided that best way to tackle this problem is to create separate lists for holiday meal ideas, birthday gift ideas, Christmas gift ideas, and decoration planning cause I’m all about the Christmas spirit. I normally set a budget early in the year and work my gift ideas according to my budget. Since I’m behind schedule, this year’s budget is a little tight so I may need to flex my creative juices to work some magic. If you were not thinking of thoughtful and meaningful gift ideas….you need to get your mind out of the gutter! Anyhoo, do you all have any ideas? It takes a village in all things, right? Let me know.

I will be updating on my progress or lack there of. Pray for me ya’ll.

Until next time!
